MARK LEVI
Professor, Mathematics Department, Penn State
Much of my research is driven by the desire to find simplicity in complicated or counterintuitive phenomena (an example: stability of the inverted pendulum), to find hidden connections between seemingly unrelated objects (an example: a stationary Schroedinger equation and the ``bike tracks"), and to discover new phenomena (a recent example: ``ponderomotive magnetism").
